Supporting Ghanaian Farmers

Yara Ghana over the years has demonstrated his commitment in supporting Ghanaian Farmers. Yara has not rested on its oars when it comes to sponsoring FAGRO 2011, as this has been displayed during previous exhibitions. Yara has been part of the main sponsors of this event since its inception three years ago.
The theme for this year celebration was “Beginning with the end in mind” associated to the Value Chain concept.
The opening ceremony saw dignitaries like Rev. Father Campbell, the deputy Minister of Agric in charge of fisheries, Nii Amasa Namoale, the President of Cocoa and sheanut farmers association and representatives from the sponsoring companies and organizations. Yara has been represented by its Retail Sales Manager, Henry Otoo-Mensah.
In their speeches, they all appreciated the role FAGRO is playing in providing the platform for the industry players to showcase their products and services. They emphasized the importance of Agriculture to the Ghanaian economy and pledged their support to the Ghanaian farmers.

The days following the opening ceremony were daily seminars. Yara had the opportunity to talk about the impact of fertilizer subsidy on food security. The audience has shown a lot of interest especially concerning the new products introduced into the subsidy system such as YaraBela SULFAN. It has also demonstrated that education and trainings are highly requested by the farmers, and that’s why Yara will continue sharing knowledge with its customers across the country.

Yara Ghana has displayed it full product folio on its stands at the fair.Visitors to the Yara stand were excited about our new products like YaraMila WINNER and YaraLiva NITRABOR and what they can do especially for the fruits and vegetables. Farmers from Nsawam, Kasoa and its environs and Dzorwulu vegetable farmers association visited our stand.
