YARA GHANA PARTICIPATES IN FAGRO 2010

Yara Ghana, a leading supplier and distributor of mineral fertilizer in Ghana, has taken another bold step by sponsoring the FAGRO 2010, a second of its kind in Ghana. FAGRO is a platform for agricultural stakeholders, small holders, farmers and agribusinesses to showcase their works and products to the teaming public, thereby reaching out to new business frontiers. The National food and Agricultural show from which the acronym FAGRO was coined has shown tremendous growth. The mission of the show is to raise the importance of Agriculture nationally in collaboration with stakeholders  and partners in the sector. The theme for this year celebration was Sustainable Agriculture through appropriate Technology.

FAGRO 2010 was officially opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. John Dramani Mahama accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Hon.Kwesi Ahwoi who was the guest speaker of the function. The minister in his speech said, this year theme of sustaining agriculture through appropriate Technology is in tandem with the Ministry of food and Agriculture strategy of modernizing agriculture. To the minister, FAGRO is an innovation that we must all encourage and sustain in order to save the nation from using scarce foreign exchange on importation of food commodities.

Yara Ghana apart from being among the major sponsor also donated 75 bags of fertilizer towards the Ministerial special award scheme to reward the agricultural colleges which emerged, the most promising colleges based on ‘What do you know ‘quiz contest. The 3 best colleges received a batch of fertilizers with the key products like YaraMila ACTYVA,YaraMila WINNER, YaraLiva NITRABOR, YaraBela SULFAN and YaraVita TRACEL BZ. This will give the students the opportunity to work and know more the best products of our portfolio in Ghana.

Yara Ghana has displayed it full product folio on its stands at the fair including its new Yara Vita Tracel BZ which is a new foliar product yet to hit the Ghanaian market.
 

 Indeed, FAGRO 2010 is a welcome addition to the agribusiness sector and huge platform to push Ghana agrarian economic agenda and Yara Ghana is proud to associate itself with the fair.
